Sink not running against Martinez,” technically this Politico.com headline from Monday is correct, as no one will be running against Mel Martinez, ever again. But their assertion that she wasn’t throwing her hat in the ring to become Florida’s junior Senator in 2010 may have been off the mark.

Naked Politics, the “Internet blog,” is reporting that she still hasn’t made up her mind. They also point out that Sink’s hubby, Bill McBride, took a strong beating in the 2002 Gov race against possible Republican nominee Jeb Bush.

She’s seen as a strong contender for the nomination because as CFO she’s the only Democrat in Florida who is serving in a state-wide elected office. Besides Bill Nelson that is, who, according to the Constitution, can not hold two Senate seats at once.
