T.I. has been all over the news this week. First, his latest film, Takers, is doing amazingly well, reaching #1 at the box office. Then he and wife Tameka Cottle were arrested on Wednesday, allegedly for drug possession, just a month after their secret Miami wedding.

But before any of that happened, T.I. had big plans to release a new single. Titled “Pledge Allegiance to the Swag,” it features our very own Rick Ross in almost 8 minutes worth of of rhyming and a beat we’d picture perfect for head bopping in the club. The funny part? That was T.I.’s intention all along. He didn’t want it released on the radio or “officially.”

On Monday he spoke to MTV about what we can all expect from his latest LP King Uncaged, including possible releases and leaks. He told them:

“My next song … I’m not even sending it to radio first. I’m going to work it from the streets to the clubs. Then as DJs

ask about it, I’ll deliver it to them. I’m gonna go all the way back to

grassroots. I feel that people right now feel I’m going so far over

their heads, given my prior success with Paper Trail. They feel like I’m trying to leave my foundation and my demographic behind, which is far from my intention.”
